THE
MODERN MISSION
Mission Street in San Francisco between 18th and 25th is one of
the most vibrant neighborhoods of the city. A holdout against gentrification,
it is a contrast of a traditional Hispanic business street and modern
San Francisco life.
However, the modern architecture is mostly overlooked. Signs, details,
and whole buildings that exemplify the mid-century era are strewn
about - in varying stages of decay and misuse. And who could ignore
the coolest dentist office ever. I thought about this for
many years, and one Sunday morning I decided to do a small photo
essay. I hope you enjoy it.
